Accepting these terms
These terms cover your use of the San Fernando Concrete website and any estimate, agreement or work you get from us. By using the site, asking for an estimate or hiring us, you agree to them, so please read them before you book.
If you don't agree with these terms, please don't use the site or hire us based on it. If something here is unclear, contact us and we'll explain it before you commit to anything.
What we do
San Fernando Concrete is a concrete contractor in San Fernando, CA. We build driveways, patios, sidewalks, steps, pool decks, garage floors, retaining walls, footings and foundations, along with stamped and decorative concrete and concrete cutting. You can read more about our crew on the About page and find the full list of services from the home page.
The service descriptions on this site are general. The exact work for your job is what's written in your estimate or agreement, and that document controls if it differs from anything on the site.
Estimates and pricing
We give free quotes on site, and asking for one creates no obligation. An estimate is based on what we can see and measure on the day we visit, such as the size of the area, how much old concrete comes out, the condition of the ground and access for our equipment.
Some conditions only show up once the old slab is out or the ground is dug, such as soft or wet soil under the slab, buried roots or debris, or utility lines. If we find something that changes the work or the price, we'll stop, show you, and get your approval in writing before we go ahead. You won't be charged for extra work you didn't approve.
An estimate is good for the period written on it. After that, material and labor costs may have changed, and we may need to update the price.
Scheduling, weather and cancellation
We'll agree on a start date with you, but concrete work depends on the weather, because rain or extreme heat on pour day can weaken the finished surface. If conditions aren't right, we'll move the pour and tell you as early as we can. A weather delay isn't a breach of our agreement by either side.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please call us at (818) 806-6170 as soon as you know. If you cancel after we've ordered materials or started work, you may be responsible for the cost of materials already ordered and work already done, as set out in your agreement. Any cancellation rights the law gives you still apply.
Payment
The payment schedule, including any deposit and when the balance is due, is written in your agreement before work starts. Please pay according to that schedule, because we order concrete and materials ahead of the pour.
If a payment is late, we may pause work until it's paid. Accepted payment methods will be listed on your estimate or agreement.
Your part of the job
We ask that you give our crew clear access to the work area, tell us about any sprinkler lines, pipes or wiring you know of, and move cars and belongings out of the way before we arrive. Some work may need a permit from your city, and your agreement will say who is responsible for it.
New concrete needs time to cure, which means the wait while it hardens enough to take weight. We'll tell you when it's safe to walk on and drive on. Damage from using the slab early, or from people, pets or vehicles crossing it while it's fresh, isn't covered.
Our work and what concrete does
We stand behind our work, and if something we did isn't right, call us and we'll come look at it. Any written warranty for your job is the one in your agreement, and it covers only what it states.
Concrete can crack, even when it's built right. We cut control joints, which are planned grooves that give the slab a place to crack in a straight line instead of at random, but we can't promise a slab will never crack. Small hairline cracks, slight color differences between pours and normal surface wear are part of how concrete behaves and are not defects.
We're not responsible for problems caused by things outside our work, such as ground movement, tree roots, water from gutters or sprinklers, heavy vehicles beyond what the slab was built for, chemicals or de-icers, or changes someone else makes later. Except for any written warranty in your agreement, our work and this website are provided without other warranties, to the extent the law allows.
Limits on our liability
San Fernando Concrete is licensed and insured. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.
We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost use of a driveway or patio while it cures, or damage to underground items we weren't told about and couldn't reasonably see. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit.
Using this website
The information on this site is general and isn't a substitute for an on-site estimate. We try to keep it accurate, but we may update services, photos and descriptions at any time without notice.
The text, photos and design on this site belong to San Fernando Concrete. Please don't copy them for commercial use without our written permission.
Resolving a disagreement
If you're unhappy with any part of our work or billing, call us first at (818) 806-6170 or reach us through the contact page, because most problems get settled quickly once we come out and look. We'll answer within 1 business day.
If we can't settle it between us, we both agree to try mediation in good faith before going to court. If that doesn't work, either side may take the matter to the courts of Los Angeles County, California.
Governing law
These terms and any agreement with San Fernando Concrete are governed by the laws of the State of California. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted on this page is the one in effect. Changes don't affect an agreement you've already signed, which stays under the terms in place when you signed it.
Questions about these terms can go to us through the contact page or by phone at (818) 806-6170, Mon–Sun: 8 AM–9 PM.
